We followed the sun to NICE!
After spending two days in Lake Como, Me and Zim decided to follow the sun. February in Europe doesn’t typically yield the best weather. But when your flight was $135 rt, it doesn’t really matter. The night before we left Lake Como, we looked up the weather for all of the places we could drive to in a days time. It was a no brainer. Hit the coast of Italy and drive to Nice!
I had eye-gasms the whole drive. Absolutely beautiful. Once you hit the coast it was like a scene out of a movie or post card. We stopped at some sketchy places along the way to explore. That’s the inner kid in me.
We drove to Nice without accomodations for the night. It’s really not that big of a deal, it adds to the allure of your exploration. lol We made a stop at McDonalds for the free wifi and the ridiculously overpriced fries. Zim hipped me to the Hotel Tonight app. Last minute hotel deals. Basically unsold hotel rooms that you can book the same day. We scored a room for $60/night. Probably a 10-15 minute walk away from the water.
Nice was beautiful. The streets were clean. It didn’t seem real. I’m so use to seeing trash and liter everywhere. None of that. I’ve never been hype about Paris, so France has been low on my list of places to visit BUT Nice– I will definitely go back there during the summer. I saw more black people than I expected and not just Africans. When you travel as much as I do, it’s nice to see familiar faces even though they really not familiar. lol. We only had one night in Nice. We headed back to Milan the next day but not without stopping in Monaco on the way!
In my mind, Monaco is one of those places that is only found in movies and itineraries of the rich and famous. I NEVER thought I would find myself there. Not going to lie Monaco makes you want to jump “Howard Homecoming” fresh to even get out the car. So luxurious. Ooooh wee! Can’t wait to travel back there one day with my husband and gamble in Monte Carlo and eat caviar on the French Rivieira.
