The Recap.
I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I have to be in a certain mood to write, especially this type of writing. You know, the type of writing that requires you to show your soul a little bit. I’ve been “can’t stay puttin” a lot lately, and unfortunately I share my movement more on instagram because it’s just easier. Less words, more pics. But when I’m ready to tell the story to connect the dots, I come here. I’ve just about decided to post a recap in pics once a week, just to make sure I’m showing love on all my platforms.;)
Hmmm. Let’s see where should I start? I traveled to St. Maartin and Anguilla with my brother and family back in March. It’s kind of like a tradition, well until the kids are too old to need Auntie Lauren to help out or I become so overwhelmingly busy I can’t go. (That would never happen, I love dem babies)
This trip was just what I needed. If you’re no stranger to my travels, then you know very rarely do I “vacation.” (refer to my vacationing vs. traveling post) It was nice to just chill and relax. I described this trip as “vacation for a traveler.” And that it was. I’ve written about my experience in Anguilla before. Check it out here.
After Anguilla, I went back to my hometown of Atlanta. SWATS to be exact. Southwest Atlanta. Some times life requires you to slow your roll and there is nothing you can do to fight it. My trip home was one of those times. Took care of family stuff and probably grew up 5 years while doing so. lol. But it was great to just kick it and be around my friends from home. On the road, I forget what it’s like to be around the people that been knowing and been knowing you. lol. Feels good. Feels warm. Love y’all!
Shout out to Reebok for the kicks! Much Love! I love Melody Eshani:) Been following her journey for years!
After 5 weeks in Atl, I pulled off attending two graduations on the same weekend in two different states. University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and University of Louisville in Kentucky. Couldn’t miss my best friends’ graduations. You only become a doctor once. Any who, It was a bit nostalgic, overwhelming, loving and all that. Professional school like Dental, Medical, Law kidnaps people for 3-4 years. I hadn’t seen one of my best friends in years. (I mean, granted we talked all the time lol) But you get my drift. It was truly amazing to see my beautiful best girlfriends walk across that stage. I cried like a simp. It made me think about when I was on the same path. We were all biology majors in college. We attended the same summer Medical and Dental programs. Got each other through Organic Chemistry. Shadowed Doctors. I’m rabbling but I say all that to say that I know the sacrifice and the hard work they put in to become doctors. (And I only went through a sliver of it) And though, I have absolutely no regrets, I am grateful for that part of my life because it was a haze. No way you can get through that without picking up some life skills, if anything critical thinking skills. But any who, I admire their tunnel vision and I thank God I’ve finally found what I have tunnel vision for {(CSP™)}!
Felt so good to be around my FRIENDS! I love meeting new people all around the world but it ain’t nothing like your true homies.
It was my first time in Kentucky. Got hang out a bit and check out the sites. The food was amazing!
Mel showed me around the city!
#cantstayput
We went on a bike ride too. Thankfully, I have no footage of that. Lol. It’s been a minute since I put miles on a bike.
After Kentucky, I hit up NYC to see my fam and celebrate my mom’s birthday. I finally launched CSP™ apparel while in NYC.
Love my nephew!
Girls just want to have fun, especially after a couple of drinks.
My sentiments exactly!
On this travel run, I traveled to NYC, St. Maartin, Anguilla, NYC, ATL, West Palm Beach, ATL, Chicago, Ann Arbor, Louisville, and NYC again.
