Anguilla. . . not Angola. . . not Antigua but Anguilla.
It is truly a blessing to have a big brother who is willing and able to take his family on such an amazing trip. Big Ups! Tryna be like Drew when I grow up. Who could pass up a free trip to Anguilla to spend time with their own nephews?? I love kids, and of course I love the kids in my family. Babysitter. . . Nanny whatever! Playing on the beach with my nephews for a free trip. Sure. The more luxurious side of being a little sister. š March is the peak season for Anguilla. Spring Break for NYC private schools.
[wpvideo gyEn0v1G]Shout out to Bacardi. I did an event with them and I’ve been rocking their shades ever since. (They’re probably worth $10, if that, but I love them just as much as my other shades)
Struck up a convo with the guy at customs “Where should we go? Where should we eat? To get drinks?” Ā Me and my sister in-law were too hype. lol
One of those “not looking at the camera, but I think I’m cute, so I’m going to post it” pics.
We were waiting on the ferry in St. Maarten.
The sunset the night we arrived.
First Day!
That authentic coconut water!
Shoal Bay Villas is definitely a place you want to check out. Peak season is from December 15th thru April 14th. Prices are reduced 32% during the off-peak season. So if you need a chill place to visit during the summer Anguilla should be on your list. I heard that it’s awesome during the summer.
We met couples who had been going to Shoal Bay Villas since the 80’s. Some remembered us from last year!
I’m pretty ill with the sand. H-O-O-K-S!
E’s Oven!
Coconut crusted grouper and squid salad!
[wpvideo 4yMr6G5T]Shout out to Myra! She’s a bartender at Manoah Beach Bar and at DaVida’s! She put us on!! She also got them island dance moves down!
After a few days at Shoal Bay, we made our way to the Viceroy.
Amazingggg!
These kids got V.I.K. letters and packages (Very important kids). Trying to be as cool as them.
So we were chilling at the pool and a little girl (she was probably 7) asked me “Where are they from?” (referring to my nephews)
Me: New York
Little girl: Where in New York?
Me: Carrol Gardens
Little girl: Oh. They live in Brooklyn. I live in TriBeca! (with the ultimate stuck up stank face)
So at this point I wanted to snatch that lil girl up. Was she trying to flex on us?!? She went on to ask about what school they attended etc. I was sick at that point. Had to just walk away.
As you can see, the Viceroy is amazing. So if you’re feeling froggy go ahead and take that leap. You won’t be disappointed! The resort has everything at your fingertips. For sure a lap of luxury. It is pricey but sometimes you deserve it!
My only issue with the Viceroy was that they only pay their housekeeping staff $5/hr. Ā I make conversation with everyone no matter what your job or background is. Different perspectives are key. I was so moved by it that I felt compelled to go out of my way to show my appreciation. I’ll always be down for the people!
When we first got to Anguilla, I made friends with the guy at customs to see what was poppin and where to go. He took me to all the hang out spots.Ā One thing that I LOVED was that every bar/restaurant had free wi-fi!
We hit up Elvis Beach Bar.
Rack of ribs and fries at 2:30 in the morning.
Definitely witnessed an island fight after the club was over. Got footage too, but it’s not appropriate. lol. My thoughts the whole time was “why you going so hard when you got a beach outside your house?”
Hit up Boca Chica nightclub too!
Figured out something to do with my hair. Having natural hair is the ultimate struggle on vacation when you opt out of getting a weave. I usually wait until the last 2 or 3 days to really go swimming. smh.
We spent our last day at Smokey’s at the Cove!
