Since I started building Can’t Stay Put™, I’ve been able to leverage my HU network to help bring exposure to my brand by partnering and collaborating with other alumni. That’s why you go to an HBCU, so that when you figure out what you want to do, you already have a family to support you. My list of reasons for why I love HU continues to grow. Still one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Going to Howard!

My collaboration with Rhea was almost a year in the making. We could never coordinate a time where we were on the same coast. But when the opportunity finally arose, we both hopped on it! And boy, am I happy we did. Not just because we ended up with a hot shoot but because we needed to be around each other’s energy. There is nothing like being in the company of another young, ambitious entrepreneur. You swap stories about the struggle while offering words of encouragement to keep each other pushing. It’s no better feeling. The journey can get lonely so I value my time with other like-minded people. Especially when they are HU alum!

One of the best things about the shoot was following Rhea’s direction. Sometimes you come across photographers who don’t really have a vision and if they do, they don’t know how to effectively communicate how to bring that vision out. Rhea’s direction was by far some of the best. After seeing the first few shots, It was nothing to trust her and follow her lead.

Let me know what you think!
